Caleb Meyer is a 2022 C/OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Blanco, TX who attends Blanco HS. Caleb is solidly built and athletic player who plays with a consistently energetic effort and keen understanding of the game. High baseball IQ. In addition to Caleb's obvious talent on the field, he is also a recognized student and scholar. He ran an impressive 7.08 60 yard dash, which is plus average for his age group. A primary catcher, Caleb is a steady and mature hand with the gear on. He presents a low profile at the ready and has easy and comfortable movement to receive. His hands are soft and sure. He gains ground assuredly utilizing his noticeably quick feet. He triggers quickly and his 75 mph velocity allows his 2.07 pop time to play well. His throws are routinely accurate. at the plate, Caleb uses his strong upper body to form the basis of his swing operation. There is some glide to his stride which helps get his bat moving and his weight shifted. His inside-out path allows him to hit the ball consistently up the middle and to the opposite field. He certainly shows athleticism at the plate. With improved lower half mechanics and added torque in his swing, he will really take off as a hitter. Caleb has the wherewithal to be an advanced player. He understands the game. He commands respect behind the plate and is an excellent field general.
