Daniel Burns is a 2020 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Ofallon, IL who attends O'Fallon. Slender young athletic build, projects well physically. Slow paced leg raise delivery with a big pause at the top, deep arm stab in back, tends to drift to the plate during his pause with a late hand separation, high 3/4's arm slot with good angle to the plate. Mid to upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph early, gets good running life in the zone. Gets some spin on his curveball and will shorten it up for a slider effect on occasional, developing change up. Making adjustments to his delivery for better consistency and command will be key in his development. Right handed hitter, narrow upright stance with a big leg lift trigger, short stride into contact, loose extended swing path, swung the bat well in games and drove the ball to the gaps. 6.80 runner. Graded out higher at this event as a position player/athlete. Good student
