Renard Smith Jr is a 2019 OF/MIF with a 5-11 162 lb. frame from Katy, TX who attends Langham Creek HS. Medium frame with an athletic build with some present strength and broad shoulders. Ran a 7.04 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary outfielder. Present athleticism when moving to the ball. Short arm action and gets on top of the ball while clearing the lower half. Glove work is clean and maintains momentum throughout. Some accurate carry to the infield. Throws topped out at 81 miles per hour from the outfield. Also worked out defensively as an infielder. Hands are clean and fields out front with a smooth funnel. Average arm strength on accurate throws across topping out at 77 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with a straight and spread stance. Utilizes a simple leg lift trigger for timing. Limited shift with quick hands to the ball. Ball gets solid jump off the barrel. Gap-to-gap power with strong hit tools. Middle of the field approach with a line drive plane. Good student as well.
