Alex Dunlap is a 2020 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Knoxville, TN who attends Hardin Valley. Medium build with broad shoulders. Ran a 7.43 second 60 yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, pitches exclusively from the stretch, lifts leg to belt line, full arm action up to a high ¾ arm slot, arm works pretty well and is relatively quick, drop and drive actions with some use of his lower half as he comes down the mound, plenty of tempo to delivery. Fills up the strike zone and varies speeds well with a three pitch mix, offerings include a fastball up to 79 mph, a curveball with 1-to-7 shape and depth, and a changeup with fading action and well maintained arm speed. Secondary outfielder, works through the ball, pretty quick transfer with repeatable mechanics, loose arm with accuracy to the bag, topped out at 81 mph from the outfield. Lefthanded hitter, spread out and open stance to start, takes a direct path to the baseball with a level swing plane, some whip and looseness to the swing with carry to the gaps, showcased willingness to hit the ball to all fields.
