Alec Charland is a 2019 SS with a 6-0 130 lb. frame from Rensselaer, NY who attends Lasalle High School. Medium, athletic frame with a young look, square shoulders, lean and projectable build with room to fill with additional strength throughout. Ran a 7.56 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front and funnels to a short and compact arm action working to a three-quarters arm slot, accurate throws with an upright release, arm strength will continue to improve with incorporation of additional lower half. Righthanded hitter, begins with a bent knee stance in the box and a high back elbow. Direct path to ball with inside swing, hands stay close to body and shows line drive plane through zone. Lowers hands at start of swing, upper body dominant, shows a feel for the barrel and middle of the field contact, occasionally gets to front side early, line drives coming off barrel when squared and can work to the opposite field.
