Patrick Melampy is a 2018 RHP/1B, 2B with a 6-4 168 lb. frame from Duxbury, MA who attends Duxbury High School. Large frame, very lean, slender build, athleticism, long limbs, and lot of room to add strength and continue to fill out physically. Posted a 7.55 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher, started with a high leg raise over waist, long arm action, deeper plunge in back, up tempo delivery, and threw from an over the top arm slot. Worked around the zone effectively with fastball at 76-80 mph and good arm side run when working that side of the plate. With two strikes turns to 12/6 shaped curveball at 70 mph with good depth. Ability to locate for strikes and mixed well. Projects for more on the mound with age. Secondary infielder, longer gather, lower arm slot, got in good position to throw with balance on the move. At the plate, starts with an open stance, high hand set, and a toe tap timing mechanism. Linear swing path through the zone, quickness to hands, and flashed ability to use lower half. Worked with an up the middle and pull side approach that would do well with additional lower half.
