Ryan D Roman is a 2017 C/OF with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from San Antonio, PR who attends Juan Suarez Pelegrina. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulder and a mature build with present strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.31 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, shows a quick transfer on throws and does a nice job of getting on top of the ball, tight release and gains ground with lower half, remains upright at release but shows accuracy down to second base. Takes short step to the ball in the outfield, gathers well and uses a big crow hop to gain momentum, fields the ball out front, solid arm speed and gets on top of throws with present strength. Sound and patient approach in the box, begins swing with a simple leg lift and incorporates lower half well. Simple shift with no stride, has a feel for the barrel and creates line drive contact to the middle of the field. Strength off the barrel and shows tools that project. Excellent student.
