Jacob Poscover is a 2017 C with a 5-10 200 lb. frame from Chesterfield, MO who attends Parkway West HS. Medium frame. Thick build with some present strength. Right handed htter with a wide spread stance and toe tap trigger. Loads to a pronated, coiled top half. Hands launch to contact on an extended rotational path. Flashes strength to the gaps on pitches outer half. Worked out defensively behind the plate. Thick, strong lower half with a higher set. Rotational lower half while transitioning into throw. Lower half moves into throws well with a compact arm action and clean release. Topped at 70 mph to second base with a 2.20 pop time. Also pitched showing a coiled hip back into windup. Tends to swing front side open on delivery to uncoil. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot that develops some arm side run on fastball. Drops to a sidearm slot at times to change eye leve of hitter. Fastball has more arm side run with developing command when arm angle drops to lower slot. Projects better as a catching prospect at this time.
