George Goldstein is a 2017 RHP with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Westport, CT who attends Staples High School. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and long limbs, present strength proportioned throughout frame. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins with a leg lift up past belt while staying tall on backside before slight drop and drive towards the plate. Does a nice job of filling up the strike zone and does so from an extended and lower three-quarters arm slot, creating movement to each pitch that comes out. Works exclusively from the stretch and gets over front side well creating angle and downhill to fastball, topped out at 81 mph with sinking life and ability to command either side of the plate. Projects for more with additional lower half, nice differential on changeup, maintains slot on 73 mph pitch and shows nice fade with solid feel. Short depth on curveball with 11-5 shape, slows arm actions slightly, can throw all three pitches for strikes. Very good student.
