Evan Zimmerman is a 2019 RHP/IF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Serra HS. Slender build with lots of room to get stronger. Slow paced delivery with good balance at gather, rotates lower half late, lands slightly closed out front, high 3/4's arm slot, hides the ball well, gets down the mound well. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, occasional arm side running action. Showed good tight spin on a 10/4 slider with some 2-plane depth, has ability to backdoor left handed hitters with his slider. Threw strikes and competed well. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open balanced stance with a short middle of the field line drive swing, patient quiet approach, repeats his mechanics well. Good student.
