Jake Carroccia is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Trumbull, CT who attends Trumbull. Medium frame with slender, athletic build. Ran 40 yard dash in 5.28 seconds. Hits with big leg lift trigger into hip coil, gets the foot down on time but will be a bit early at times, shows good quickness in hands to and through the zone. Shows good ability to square the ball up on a line and use the entire field. Stays committed to the middle of the field. Showed well in the outfield defensively, moves well to the ball with short, choppy steps and stays balanced into long, extended crow hop. Overtop slot from the OF, mostly accurate throws up to 72 MPH. Pitched as well, steady tempo into delivery, shorter arm action and compact throughout. Fastball worked 68-72 MPH with some sink down in zone, threw only fastballs and showed better command as he went on. Good student.
