David Byrnes is a 2019 OF/UT with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Franklin Lakes, NJ who attends Ramapo High School. Young, athletic frame with square squares and room to fill out with additional strength moving forward. Ran a 5.10 40-yard dash. Primary outfield, shows quick feet moving towards the ball with a big crow hop at release, some uphill plane to throws from getting under the ball but shows accuracy and will continue to develop carry with additional lower half. Lefthanded hitter, upper body swing with a square stance in the box. Gets on plane with the barrel through the zone, short swing and keeps hands close, contact approach with ability to work all fields. Very good student.
