Boston Mabeus is a 2018 OF/LHP with a 6-2 213 lb. frame from Henderson, NV who attends Coronado HS. Big and strong build with the frame to get stronger. Two-way prospect who evaluated much better as a pitcher this event. Has a long and loose arm action on the mound from a high 3/4's arm slot, arm works easy and is projectable. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, good running life at times. Hard curveball was tight and sharp, potential plus pitch. Flashed a change up as well. Will be hard to keep off the mound as a lefty throwing strikes with a 90 mph fastball and very good curveball. Left handed hitter, hits from an open stance with an upper body rotational swing, pull approach. 7.30 runner at the PG Junior National Showcase, right field tools with his arm strength. Good student, verbal commitment to Brigham Young.
