Jacob McCarthy is a 2017 OF/ with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Arden, NC who attends T C Roberson High School. Extra-large frame, lean, slender build, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.00 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, showed a long arm action, quick first step to the ball, clean transfer, and developing arm strength. At the plate, started with a tall, narrow stance, open base, a handset away from the body, and a quick leg lift timing mechanism. Showed bat speed and hand quickness through the zone, linear swing plane, and an up the middle approach. Inconsistent lower half at the plate and would see contact and consistency improve at the plate with more torque. Exceptional student.
