Nicholas Powell is a 2020 RHP with a 6-5 250 lb. frame from Ballwin, MO who attends Parkway South. Big and tall extra large build. Simple side step and throw delivery, stays directional to the plate very well, hides the ball well in back with a compact arm action coming to a high 3/4's arm slot, gets on top of the ball well, throws under control with a low effort release. Fastball topped out at 74 mph, gets very consistent sinking action on his fastball that generated lots of soft ground ball contact. Got in a good rhythm landing a big sweeping curveball for strikes. Three efficient innings throwing strikes and pitching to contact. Good student.
