Jimmy Woods is a 2017 C/UT with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Burlington, CT who attends IMG Academy. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 6.98 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, does a nice job of gaining ground with lower half, quick transfer and release with shorter arm action, occasionally gets under throws, shows arm strength and carry on throws out of hand when on top of throws, accurate to the bag. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high back elbow in the box. Small leg lift trigger for timing, stays short to the ball and looks to hit the ball out front. Upper body swing, creates contact to all fields while remaining balance through point of contact. Nice instincts and moves well down the line. Good student.
