Brandon Matias is a 2019 1B/3B/RHP with a 6-0 167 lb. frame from Glenview, IL who attends Glenbrook South HS. Medium frame and build. Will add strength and size while maintaining athleticism. Right handed hitter with a slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Linear lower half to contact with a clean, slightly lofted swing path. Shows solid barrel control with a pull approach. Best contact came to left centerfield. Worked defensively from the infield and first base. From the infield shows good range with atheltic footwork around the baesball. Quick release with on line carry and solid arm strength for a 2019. Solid middle infield skill set with tools that project nicely for second base. Plus athletic ability at first base. Quaility footwork and a loose arm action across the infield. Solid glove skills while receiving throws. Tools and athletic ability project nicely for a middle infield position. Good student as well.
