Sam Matterazzo is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Portland, OR who attends Central Catholic HS. Medium athletic build, has some present strength, long limbs for his frame, some physical projection. Low 3/4's to sidearm arm slot, stays balanced and directional well in his delivery, some energy at release, tough angle for right handed hitters. Fastball to 82 mph, maintained his velocity well, very good running life with the arm angle. Slider had some power and a big horizontal shape, occasional sharp biting action. Easy to see him as a college level reliever as he gains strength, has good mechanics and arm strength for his pitching style and arm strength. Good student.
