Matt Boissoneault is a 2018 C/RHP/OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Mercer Island, WA who attends Mercer Island HS. Large frame with strong, athletic present build; good projection remaining as well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.16 seconds. Sets up to hit from slightly open start, flows well into swing, shows excellent bat speed and strength combination resulting in hard contact consistently. Swings the bat hard with good intent. Showed legitimate power to pull field, more coming with continued physical development. Worked out defensively behind the plate, receives well and stays low through explosion, gains ground well and shows impressive arm strength down to 2nd base, popping as low as 2.03 seconds and throwing 78 MPH. Pitched as well, throws from high three quarters arm slot with good arm speed, good balance and direction through delivery with quality extension out front. Fastball worked 78-81 MPH, did a good job commanding it throughout the zone and showing the ability to change speeds with it for different looks. Worked in solid changeup as well with good fading action. Named to 2016 Northwest Showcase Top Prospect List, very good student.
