Creede Jeffers is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Ramona, CA who attends Ramona HS. Large frame with a lean, athletic build and wiry strength. Projects for additional size with strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.85 sixty yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher a smooth paced delivery to high leg lift at gather. Creates front side coil at balanced generating good torque over back leg. Separates at chest with good rhythm and fluidity. Extended arm swing back and releases from a three-quarters arm slot. Produced solid arm whip through extension with a fastball that sat in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 mph. Showed three different off speed pitches. Curveball has 12/6 shape with tight rotation and good depth when located down in the zone. Also showed a slider that had more sweeping action with occasional late tilt when located to glove side. Also flashed a changeup in the mid 70's. Maintained arm speed with changeup offering that had occasional fading action, proved to be very deceptive to hitters. Also worked out defensively from the outfield showing smooth, athletic actions while closing to and working through the baseball. Baseball came out of hand cleanly with a loose, quick arm action topping at 84 mph. Throws generated solid on line carry with accuracy. Right handed hitter with a compact hand set at load. Swings with intent to drive the baseball on an inside path to contact. Primarily showed a mid-field approach, but flashed solid jump off the barrel when working to the opposite field gap. Higher ceiling as a pitching prospect at this time. Good student as well.
