Jack Carson is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Ketchikan, AK who attends Ketchikan HS. Slender young build, broad shoulders,has some wiry present strength with room for more. Right handed hitter, spread stance, tends to open to the third base side during swing, swings hard and flashes some bat speed, line drive swing plane, ball comes off the barrel well when squared, would benefit from better stride direction to contact. 7.51 runner, charges the ball well on defense, has some athletic balance, glove tends to get down late when he stays back. Also pitched, big leg lift delivery, loose arm action, 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 72 mph, tends to slow his arm on a big slow curveball, threw strikes and competed well.
