Bret Malkin is a 2016 RHP/C with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Scottsdale Prep Academy. Large, well-built frame with good strength throughout; body still projects well moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.38 seconds. Primary pitcher, employs longer arm action with extended arm circle, slight crossfire in delivery due to closed landing, uses lower half well throughout mechanics. Gets up to high three quarters slot and generates some plane, FB worked 71-73 and touched 74 with solid arm side life. Pounded the zone with FB. Showed CB with shorter shape, commanded it well; also flashed some feel for the CH with tumble. Hits with hands set close to body and maintains inside out swing path throughout swing, middle-to-opposite field contact with consistency and some feel for controlling the barrel. Very good student.
