Brendan Gerbert is a 2016 1B/RHP with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Surrey, BC who attends North Surry HS. Big solid athletic build, very good present strength. Right handed hitter, slightly open narrow stance, smooth swing with good leverage and present bat speed, loose and extended out front, ball comes off the barrel hard with good carry. Has athletic actions at first base with balanced footwork and soft hands, looked to have the athleticism and arm strength to play third base. Also pitched, good full hip turn, high 3/4's arm slot, gets downhill well. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph, mostly straight. Flashed good curveball spin once he threw a few, rare slider, threw strikes with all pitches. Interesting young hitter with some athleticism. Good student.
