Mason Kelly is a 2019 OF/RHP, 2B, 3B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Mattituck, NY who attends Shoreham-Wading River. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout, has present physicality. Strong runner, posted a 3.80 30-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball and generates nice momentum through release, quick feet, works to an over-the-top arm slot and comes out of the hand cleanly, on top of throws and shows nice carry with solid arm strength, repeats actions. Hands play well in the infield, fields the ball out front, similar higher release point, extra steps upon release with a longer gather, accuracy across the diamond to first base. Righthanded hitter, begins with a narrow and slightly open stance in the box with a high hand set and back elbow. Utilizes a toe lift trigger for timing and torques well, strength to lower half, shows quick hands with fluidity to swing path. Shows ability to create separation with feel for the barrel, leverage when extended, shows jump off the barrel to pull side when on time. Very good student.
