Brendan Wright is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Holly Springs, NC who attends Holly Springs. Large frame with athletic, lean build at present and good projection remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.01 seconds. Primary pitcher, long and full arm action through the back of the arm circle, arm works well, compact delivery, lands slightly closed and creates crossfire action. Fastball worked 79-84 MPH with extension and some life, showed good curveball with 10/4 shape and solid depth; also mixed in a changeup with solid tailing action. Did a good job mixing pitches and getting weak contact. Sets up to hit with narrow-based, open stance, coils hip up into load and uncoils well into stride, has strength in swing, line drive swing plane with jump off the barrel to all fields when timed up properly. Worked out in the OF, moves well to the ball and fields cleanly out front and works through it, gets off quick release with accuracy to target, topped at 84 MPH from the OF. Good student.
