Ian Clark is a 2017 OF/RHP with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from League City, TX who attends Clear Falls HS. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, lean and projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.09 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the ball out front and does a nice job of getting the lower half going into throws, full arm action through the back, gets on top, occasionally under the ball at release, ball comes out cleanly and shows nice strength and carry to intended base. Begins with a side step into delivery on mound, short spine tilt at top, stays short and compact through the back with arm action and hides the ball well. Leg lift up to belt and gets tall on backside, short stride down the mound, creates cut action to fastball and up to 79 mph while showing quickness to arm action and ability to get to glove side. Showcased a feel for curveball and can throw it for strikes at 70 mph from same high three-quarters arm slot. Able to induce ground ball contact. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slight crouch and a high hand set in the box with some movement to hands pre-pitch. Aggressive approach at the plate, stays short and direct to the ball and shows a feel for the barrel. Shows bat speed and will continue to develop with additional physical strength, contact approach and shows comfort in turning on the ball to pull side. Very good student.
