Braeden Gowdy is a 2017 SS/OF, RHP with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Pleasant Hill, CA who attends College Park HS. Large, athletic frame with a lean and projectable build, room to fill out throughout. Ran a 7.49 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front, hands play at ball and picks backhand well, short arm action, arm strength projects with added physical strength. Short and quick steps to attack the ball in outfield, full arm action and shows carry out of hand, best accuracy when on top of throws, shows arm strength. Also pitched, easy and repeatable mechanics on mound, short and tight arm circle, shows quickness coming to high three-quarter slot. Generates nice plane to fastball and works down in zone, topped at 77 mph with command and short running life. Curveball has 10-4 shape with sweeping life and flashes depth. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and a high hand set. Upper body swing with quiet lower half, line drive swing plane, full through the zone and shows a feel for the barrel, get it to the ball and creates line drive contact. Nice carry off the barrel when extended out front, has ability to hit to all fields. Very good student.
