Spencer McCabe is a 2017 1B/RHP with a 6-4 235 lb. frame from Seattle, WA who attends O'Dea HS. XL frame with extremely strong, broad-shouldered build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.17 seconds. Hits from tall, slightly open stance with high back elbow. Compact bat path with big intent in swing, leveraged at contact, stays inside the ball, has big strength in swing and flashes that in the way of power. Can loft the ball deep with carry. Fields cleanly at first base with deliberate footwork, funnels deep into body, accurate across up to 82 MPH. Showed well on the mound, simple delivery, lands slightly closed but mostly online with hips, quick arm up to high 3/4 arm slot. Good extension through release, gets to both sides of the plate with fastball that worked 82-85 MPH. Curveball is a good pitch with 11/5 shape and good snap; projects as a bat missed. Good student.
