Jan Matos is a 2017 C/1B with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Aguada, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Medium build with plenty of room to get stronger. 6.82 runner, gets low and is flexible behind the plate, has a long exchange and release on his throws, young catching fundamentals. Right handed hitter, big leg lift load, front foot tends to be late getting down, long and loose swing with loose hands through contact, made solid contact when he got the barrel out on time. Very good student.
