Francesco Rinaldi is a 2016 RHP/INF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Somers, CT who attends Somers HS. Medium, broad shouldered build with a lean, projectable frame and room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.93 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, shows quickness to arm through the backside and into low three-quarter release point. Incorporates strong lower half into delivery well, finishes online, has effort at release but hides the ball well during take away. Creates some deception at release, fastball topped out at 80 mph and shows running life to arm side when online with lower half. Also showed a curveball with 11-5 shape and nice depth and a knuckleball with late action at 70 mph. Funnels well up the middle, shows a quick release and short strides to the ball with ability to be accurate from multiple arm slots. Right-handed hitter, starts with an even stance and a high hand set away from body. Upper body swing, short path to the ball and keeps hands in throughout swing. Back shoulder dips occasionally at contact looking to lift, aggressive approach with nice bat speed through the zone. Good student.
