Elijah Townsend is a 2018 RHP/2B with a 5-11 176 lb. frame from Cedar Falls, IA who attends Cedar Falls. Medium frame with an athletic build. Projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.49 sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher with a high energy side step delivery. Primarily released from a mid to low three-quarters arm slot creating running action to arm side in the upper 70's to low 80's, topped at 81 miles per hour. Also showed a cut fastball that had late movement to glove side at 78 miles per hour. Curveball showed tight rotation with 11/5 shape. Flashed feel and ability to located curveball offering with a tendency to slow arm speed slightly. Aggressively attack the strike zone and went after hitters with both pitches. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and large leg lift trigger. Generated shift into contact with linear lower half actions. Creates some top half coil at load with hands prior to launching on a loose, extended path. Primarily utilized the middle of the field, but flashed the bat speed to split the gaps when on time and squared.
