Keith Inghram is a 2017 1B/LHP with a 5-10 235 lb. frame from Davenport, IA who attends Davenport Central. Medium frame with a solid, build with some present strength. Primary first baseman with smooth, fundamental footwork while surrounding the baseball. Centers ball well while funneling the baseball out front with clean glove actions. Moves well for build while coming of the bag and ranging to each side. Topped at 73 mph across the infield from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Throws generated some carry to the bag with accuracy. Right handed hitter with a spread, open stance. Creates a slight coil and wrap with front side while loading. Swings with intent to drive the baseball on an uphill plane through extension. Shows present bat speed with strength at contact when on time and squared. Has the ability to turn barrel to contact and produce loud, line drive contact to the pull side gap. Also flashed the barrel and hand control to shoot the baseball the other way when pitch was located on the outer half. Also pitched showing a simple side step to leg lift delivery. Stays tall and balanced on back side at gather. Utilizes lower half while driving to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands in line with the plate and carries momentum well through finish. Releases from a compact three-quarters arm slot that generated occasional downward plane to the plate. Fastball flashed occasional sinking action, topped at 74 mph. Curveball had 2/8 shape with softer spin and occasional depth. Flashed better depth with later break when staying on top of curveball offering at release. Consistently worked the bottom of the strike zone with both pitches inducing ground ball contact. Good student as well.
