Michael Hill is a 2017 LHP/OF, 1B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Berkeley Preparatory High School. Lean, athletic build with a medium frame and ability to handle additional strength in his frame. Posted a 7.33 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary left handed pitcher, longer arm action with slight drop and drive in his delivery. Good extension down the mound with a square to the plate finish. Fastball filled the zone at 74-77 mph. Curveball showed slightly slurvy action with developing feel at 65 mph. Also mixed in a changeup at 70 mph. Also worked out in the outfield, moved well to the ball, longer arm action, sound accuracy, and developing arm strength. At the plate, started slightly open with a high hand set, high back elbow, and a leg lift timing mechanism. Quiet hand load with linear path and bat wrap at start. Inconsistent firing of hips and lower half usage, will improve with a refined motion. Outstanding student.
