Cristian Gonzalez is a 2018 1B with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Brownsville, TX who attends Hanna HS. Large frame with a solid build and present strength. Ran a 7.65 sixty yard dash. Primary first baseman with clean glove actions while funneling the baseball from a slightly deeper position. Flashed good arm strength with solid carry across the infield topping at 79 miles per hour. Stays balanced and under control throughout transition, also shows solid footwork around the bag as well. Right handed hitter with simple approach and leg lift trigger. Barrel comes through the zone on a clean, line drive plane creating solid extension through contact. Hands come through the zone quickly generating solid bat speed and good raw power to each outfield gap. Baseball jumps off the barrel and produces good carry deep to the outfield gaps. Tools will continue to develop with continued physical maturity and repetition. Outstanding student. Named to the 2016 national Underclass South Showcase Top Prospect List.
