Jackson Tylman is a 2017 C/1B/OF with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Alamo Heights HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.44 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, begins with a lower set behind the plate and receives the ball well out front, gets tall at release, projects with additional lower half involved, clean transfer, gets on top of throws and shows accuracy, arm strength will continue to develop. Simple side step moving into delivery, leg lift up to belt and does a nice job of getting tall on backside. Remains short through the back with arm action, generates cut action to fastball and topped out at 80 mph, shows angle when getting to glove side. Short stride down the mound, holds velocity out of stretch, ball comes out easy. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and loads weight on backside at start. Aggressive approach at the plate, swings hard and generates nice bat speed, incorporates physical strength well into swing. Can work the opposite field with comfort and creates hard jump off the barrel when timed up. Very good student.
