Randy Huerta is a 2018 2B/OF with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from New Braunfels, TX who attends New Braunfels HS. Large frame, medium build, still has room to fill out physically. From the infield, primary second basemen, good feel for the middle and quick range laterally. From the outfield, moves athletically and has quick actions coming to the ball followed by a crow hop before throwing. Throws have solid carry to the bases. At the plate, right-handed hitter that starts with a high hand set, high back elbow, and a small toe tap trigger. Short compact swing on a line drive swing plane. Generates lift after the point of contact. Developing bat speed, strong pull side contact. Good student.
