Ahmad Smith is a 2016 SS/ with a 5-11 163 lb. frame from Nassau, BS who attends Nassau Christian. Medium frame, lean athletic build with high waist, has room to fill out. Good footspeed and overall athleticism, ran a 7.03 60-yard dash. Right handed hitter, upright stance with toe-tap timing trigger, rocking hand load. Compact hand path, shows ability to stay inside the baseball, flashes ability to get barrel to the ball and show solid contact to the middle of the field. Has soft hands in the infield, solid overall actions but tempo can be a bit slow, could be more aggressive to the ball. Smooth funnel and transfer, uses compact arm-action. Solid baserunner, gets good jumps and reads, can be a weapon on the basepaths. Good student.
