David Chianelli is a 2017 OF/ with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Tinley Park, IL who attends Victor J Andrew. Medium frame with an athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 6.72 sixty yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth actions while closing and surrounding the baseball. Clean glove skills while working through pick up and transfer. Creates a long arm cirlce at separation and releases from a three-quarters arm slot. Throws generate uphill carry to the bag with accuracy, topping at 82 mph. Right handed hitter with a straight, balanced stance and lower hand set. Uses a leg lift timer and launches into contact with linear lower half acitons. Shows a naturally lofted swing plane that produces occasional carry to the middle of the field. Flashed present bat speed and strength at contact when front side trigger arrives on time creating loud contact. Showed a mature, patient approach while at the plate in games. Good student as well. Named to 2016 Great Lakes Showcase Top Prospect List.
