2017 PG Fall Top Prospect National Showcase
Nick Hyde is a 2019 SS/RHP, IF, OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Mount Pleasant, SC who attends Oceanside Collegiate School. Recorded a 6.82 second 60-yard dash time. Broad shoulders with an athletic build with present fast twitch muscle. Primary shortstop with good arm strength and lateral agility. Solid glove actions and retains balance well. Fluid and good range and can throw from multiple arm slots. Secondary outfielder with very good arm strength recorded up to 91 mph. Attacks the ball well with a quick first step. Smooth fielding actions with a very quick exchange and release. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a short rocker step into a leg lift slightly above the wiast. Good rhythm and tempo and hides the ball well. Fluid mechanics and loose arm action. Creates good plane on the fastball from a high three-quarter arm slot. Mixed in a curveball with tight rotation and 10/5 shape and break. Righthanded hitter with a high hand set and high back elbow. High leg lift trigger with an uphill path. Line drive contact at best with a direct path. Line drive approach with some bat speed. Named to the 2017 PG Fall Top Prospect National Showcase Top Prospect List. Great student.
