Edward Ciafardini is a 2007 2B/3B with a 5'9'', 160 lb. frame from West Orange NJ, who attends Seton Hall Prep. He has a small frame with solid present strength. Ciafardini ran the 60 in 7.24 and threw 75 mph during infield drills. He shows nice quickness on defense, with good body control and a quick release on his throws. His actions are smooth and practiced. At the plate, Ciafardini has a no load balanced approach and a short swing that mostly just uses his hands and arms. He keeps his weight and hands back well and sprays line drives to all fields. He's best when he's going to the opposite field or up the middle and does a good job of staying within his capabilities offensively. More strength and some lower half involvment could open up some gap to gap power. Ciafardini is an excellent student.
