Grant Meiers is a 2018 C/1B with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Doylestown, PA who attends Central Bucks-East. Large frame with a medium build and some present strength. Right handed hitter with an open, narrow stance and a leg lift trigger. Top half loads to a coiled position to create torque and looks to drive the baseball in the air with intent. Extended swing plane with an uphill swing path. Primarily uses a mid-field approach but shows the ability to hit the ball line to line with power to the opposite field gap. Worked out defensively from behind the plate showing good momentum into throws with carry out of hand. Quick footwork and transfer into release, best pop time of 1.97 during workouts. Large target behind the plate for pitchers with developing glove actions while receiving. Solid tools for age, will continue to develop with mechanical refinement and fluidity. Good student as well.
