Will Masterson is a 2018 SS/RHP with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Doylestown, PA who attends Central Bucks-East. Medium frame with a medium build. Body projects for additional size with athleticism. Right handed hitter with a coiled top half at load. Linear lower half actions and tends to hit off a taller front side. Hands launch to baseball with on an extended path. Mid-field approach with a level swing plane through the zone. Shows present bat speed when making contact out front. Consistent hard contact gap to gap throughout batting practice. Worked out defensively from the infield showing a quick transfer with an extended arm action. Ball comes out of hand clean with developing accuracy, topped at 77 mph across the infield. Solid first step to each side with developing range. Tends to funnel baseball at a deep position when working through gather. Also pitched showing drop and drive mechanics. Compact arm action from a high three quarters slot. Hides the baseball very well from hitters that appears to jump on hitter at times. Lower half momentum drives to plate well with a fastball that shows arm side life topping at 77 mph. Flahsed an 11/5 curveball with good shape and depth. Shows good feel for spin on the off speed offering while consistently staying down in the zone. Solid tools for age and will continue to develop with physical maturity. Outstanding student as well.
