Mike Cilio is a 2019 SS/RHP with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Chester, NJ who attends West Morris Mendham. Medium frame with a strong, athletic build. Ran a 7.06 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with quick, athletic footwork while ranging to each side and surrounding the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and works through transition with very quick exchanges. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot generating accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 80 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance. Generated some shift into contact with linear lower half actions. Inside path to contact with line drive barrel plane through extension. Flashed solid bat speed through the zone primarily utilizing a gap to gap approach. Stayed balanced throughout and showed solid feel for the barrel throughout batting practice. Also pitched showing a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays flexed on back side at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Compact arm circle at take back and released from a mid three-quarters arm slot. Fastball flashed some cutting action out of hand to glove side in the low to mid 70's, topped at 76 miles per hour. Maintains arm speed with a curveball offering that had 10/5 shape with loose spin and occasional depth. Hides the baseball well behind body prior to delivery creating some deception to hitters. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Very good student.
