Chance White is a 2018 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Magnolia, TX who attends Magnolia West HS. Medium frame with a lean build. Projects for additional strength. Primary shortstop with clean, athletic footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front and work through exchange well. Deeper take back and generated good momentum to the bag while releasing from a loose three-quarters slot. Throws produced accurate, on line carry across the infield topping at 81 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a compact, simple swing plane. Generated some lift when working to the pull side but showed the present barrel control to work to all fields. Produced some jump off the barrel when squared that generated solid carry to the gap. Also pitched utilizing a simple rock step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Compact, easy arm actions from a three-quarters slot. Fastball showed some run to arm side with occasional sink in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 79 miles per hour. Showed varying shape with breaking ball that had solid with late movement when maintaining arm speed through extension. Consistently worked down in the zone and induced weak, ground ball contact. Good student as well.
