Alejandro Texeira is a 5'5" 165 pound 2008 catcher from Miami, Florida who attends South Miami High School. He has a young body that shows good core strength. Alejandro gets good extension on his swing and shows good bat speed through the hitting zone. He uses a contact approach and uses the entire field. He has gap to gap power potential that will really develop as he matures. Texeira is a very good receiver behind the plate. He has very advanced blocking skills and makes good accurate throws. His best pop time was a 2.18 and most of the others were in the same area. Alejandro has solid tools with lots of room to grow and add strength. He is a solid follow with a bright future ahead of him.
