2015 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Jake Isbell is a 2016 RHP/C, 3B, 1B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Holly Springs, NC who attends Holly Springs. Large frame with strong, solid build throughout body. Shows compact arm action on the mound with good arm speed, arm works well up to 3/4 slot with medium effort. Very strong throughout body, raw strength is evident on the mound. Good balance throughout delivery, most effective when commanding FB down in zone. FB worked 78-83 topping at 84 with good arm side run. Mixed in 3 off speed pitches with solid effectiveness. Primary off speed pitch is the slider, showing sharp sweeping tilt, lots of movement and has swing-and-miss potential. Showed CB in low 70's with slurvy shape, quality depth, good varying look from SL. Flashed CH as well with good velocity differential from FB and some fading action. Threw strikes with all four pitches. Named to 2015 Atlantic Coast Top Showcase Top Prospect List.
