Shil Amin is a 2018 2B/3B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Mount Laurel, NJ who attends Lenape High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, projects with room to still fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 5.21 40-yard dash. Primary second baseman, fields the ball out front, shows nice body control throughout actions, short arm action on throws across, works through the backhand, occasionally gets under throws at release, looks to be quick with footwork. Righthanded hitter, begins with a tight and high hand set and back elbow at the plate, slightly closed stance and utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Shows a full swing path through the zone and remains linear to point of contact. Shows quickness to hands and a feel for the barrel, occasionally mistimed with front foot, repeats mechanics well and shows best contact to pull side, comfort working the middle too. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Middlesex County College.
