Peterson is a 6'1" 170 pound 2006 catcher and first baseman from Costa Mesa, California who attends Corona del Mar High School. He is tall and lean with some square shoulders who has room to fill out. He has a wide base and a slight crouch in his stance and keeps his hands high as well. A small stride and good weight transfer allows him to spray the ball all over the field. During the game, Nick made an outstanding play at first base by sliding to backhand a ball and tossing it to the pitcher to get the out. He showed an average arm with a quick release in the workout by throwing 67 mph and a pop time of 2.18.
