Graham Lapolla is a 2007 C with a 5'11'', 180 lb. frame from Alpharetta GA, who attends Milton HS. He has a medium athletic build and good strength for his size. Lapolla ran 7.23 in the 60 and threw 75 mph during catching drills with a best pop time of 2.03. His throws had very good on-line carry and he showed good balance and athletic agility. Offensively, Lapolla has a very calm approach and an under control line drive swing. He uses his hand strength well and looks like he's hit plenty with wood before. He stays inside the ball, stays short and makes consistent line drive contact to all fields. He doesn't try to do too much with the ball and a coach who wants to see more power will have to convince him to make adjustments to his approach, but he looks like a high contact/high average hitter right now. Lapolla has a serious, hustling approach to the game, which you like to see in a catcher. He's a solid prospect. Lapolla is also a very good student.
