Ian Mindas is a 2017 C/OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Toms River, NJ who attends Toms River North High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable frame with room to fill throughout. Ran a 5.37 40-yard dash. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and does a nice job of getting close at contact. Starts with a high back elbow and shows a quick load, repeats mechanics well and incorporates lower half well. Middle of the field approach with solid contact, clean swing plane with very good extension and line drive contact with jump off the barrel. Primary catcher, uses mostly lower half at release and will continue to lower pop times with continued incorporation of lower half. Short arm action, gets on top of throws and stays low through actions, accurate throws to second base. Very good student.
